Sue was born in Ryde in 1967. She attended Bennett Street Primary School until the roof blew off and later went on to Medina High School. She left the island to go to Newcastle University to study Agricultural Economics.
In 1990 Sue met her husband, Graham, in the Nat West Agricultural Office in Coventry where they were both working. They married in Somerset and went on to have four boys. They moved to the Isle of Wight in 2006 and settled in Freshwater.
Sue joined Yarmouth WI at its formation and remains a member today.
She became a Trustee in 2010 and served as Vice Chairman for 4 years before taking on the role of Chairman in 2018. Sue teaches piano at home and her claim to fame is playing the violin for Prince Charles. She is a keen supporter of ice hockey, Southampton FC and is partial to motor racing.
