Sandra Singleton

Board of Trustees

I joined Niton WI in June 2020 when I retired following the lift of Covid lockdown restrictions, where I took up the role of Treasurer. I also wanted to sample the diversity of being a dual member, so I joined Chale WI for a short time. Now I am one of the founding members of the newly re-established Godshill WI.

As a Federation Trustee, I sat as a representative for the IOW on the National Group for setting the 2025 Subscription Fees and then the National 2025 Final Resolutions Selection group.

I continue to enjoy being an attendee and contributor to the IOW WI Photography Club as well as active member of IOW WI Federation Arts & Leisure, where I hold the title of "Dinner Lady" (organising monthly lunch gatherings).

Now in my second year as one of the Islands WI Independent Financial Examiners.

London born and bred, my husband and I moved to the Island 20 years ago from Surrey after a brief 5 year sojourn in Southampton. Following a full, varied and uninterrupted career of 46 years, across many sectors, working mainly as a planner/fixer/trouble shooter, I class myself as a "Jack of all trades, Master of none". As a volunteer I have utilised my skills on crisis phone calls, as a Mentee, within HMP Parkhurst and Island Care Homes. My primary love is art, followed closely by doughnuts. I am a published writer, and thoroughly enjoy swimming, gardening, crafting, puzzling and now with 2 new knees, looking forward to walking along our beaches with an ice cream in my hand.
